Compare Carolina Pratt Standard Unit Blocks
Compare these sets with any other high quality standard unit blocks offered by other leading preschool equipment manufacturers.
We use only durable, infant-safe Hard Rock Maple for our unit blocks — never imported, chemically treated rubberwood or other soft Asian hardwood. We precision manufacturer each unit block to within one-half of one hundredth of an inch.
We make it easy to upgrade. You can start with a smaller set to meet immediate needs and upgrade whenever you wish.
When selecting your set of unit blocks, consider your short-term and long-term block play needs.
How many children (and their adults) do you want to be able to play simultaneously without creating play-disrupting competition for basic block shapes? Short-term? Long-term? Ideally?

Our Hard Rock Maple Unit Block Stock is never treated or sprayed with anti-fungals or insecticides because doesn't need to be — Hard Rock Maple hardwood is naturally insect- and mold-resistant. When your maple unit blocks get soiled, just wipe them off with a damp cloth and let them air-dry. Hard Rock Maple Unit Blocks typically last for decades when periodically cleaned and kept indoors. (We have some blocks that are almost a century old.)
We’ve taken an American education standard — the Unit Block — and provide a better block — locally-made, sustainably produced, precisely and lovingly made, and ultimately safer for our children.
We use responsibly harvested, kiln-dried FSC® Certified Hard Rock Maple, the only material we believe to be suitable for the full range of builders, from infants who put everything in their mouths to older adolescent siblings who build as high as they can reach.
We precision manufacture each block to within one-half of one hundredth of an inch in every dimension. We round-over every edge for safety.
We use only the time-tested proportions of the Standard Unit Block developed by educator Caroline Pratt one hundred years ago: 5.5 inches long, 2.75 inches wide, and 1.375 inches thick. Every block we produce is based on multiples of these basic measurements.
We offer an industry-leading 10 Year Warranty.
